Though rugs were originally made for use as a floor covering ,and out of need, Rug Hooking today has taken on new and exciting twists. The mats that are hooked today can still be used as a floor covering ranging in sizes from 2' x 3' to 9' x 12' or larger. Today's hooked mats can also be pictorials, portraits, handbags, pillows, bedrugs, accessories, three dimensional , and alternative hooking which is hooked with non traditional fibers.

Traditional Rug Hooking is not latch hooking.
